The contribution made by one of our local ministers, Pastor David Peterson. He colored his hair blue when his church brought in 1,000 pounds and dollars for the food shelf.
Pastor Peterson gets the blues
When the confirmation class at Our Savior’s, Warren, decided to collect 1,000 pounds of food for their hunger drive, Pastor Dave Peterson decided to risk getting the blues with a motivational challenge. The drive ran from March 18 to Easter Sunday. Reaching the goal made David blue — well, his hair was blue.
“A $500 check put us over the top.” David said. “So, after considering a choice of colors, my hair was dyed blue (the day before the end of the drive) at a salon in Warren. We held the “unveiling” Sunday morning. It’ll eventually wash out.”
The food drive challenge was publicized in the congregational bulletin, newsletters and on the local public access channel.
Hats off to you, David!
